About Us
Why Noddy by Elizabeth?
What better for your “little ones”, than a purpose-built pre-school centre situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with minimum through traffic! We accept children of all nationalities aged from eighteen months to six years. All classes are conducted in English language.
Our children per class ratio is small and our caring staff are constantly aware of encouraging children to grow up with a friendly and helpful attitude towards each other. It is a pleasure to see how they grow up in ability and self-confidence as they move up to older classes and to know that finally they will be ready to enter primary school, well-prepared to join the next stage of their education. Our fees are very competitive and enable parents to prepare for the years ahead when their children progress through the future years of their school journey.
Location and Background
NODDY was established in 1978, some 44 years ago by Mrs. Elizabeth (the Owner/Founder) in response to an evident need for such provision in the city of Bangkok. Initially, the focus was on the expatriate community, but this subsequently expanded to the provision of Thai families as well.
Being situated in a cul-de-sac in a prime residential area of Bangkok (YenAkart/Sathorn) with close proximity to various embassies, and large business headquarters and offices, NODDY provides a high visibility option for an expanding group of families. With the advent of the AEC (Asian Economic Community), International education for Thai children has become very popular and the Centre has become well-known because the way they operate meets the objectives of these children to be well-prepared for entry to the prime international schools. We operate under license from The Department of Child Welfare of Thailand.
Pupils
At present, there are approximately 75 children with ages ranging from 18 months to 6 years. NODDY admits both boys and girls, of all nationalities and religions. Most of the children move on to International schools, such as Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, King’s College International School Bangkok, St.Andrews International School Bangkok, Garden International School Bangkok, etc. Some move on to Thai schools, such as Mater Dei School, St. Joseph Convent School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School, etc.
Curriculum
NODDY applies a British curriculum, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and focuses on the ‘five areas of learning. We use the ‘Free-Flow-Play’ technique, focusing on children leading their individual activities with close observation and guidance from the teachers. This technique allows children to broaden their imagination and creativity and help to build up their self-confidence. All activities are conducted in English language.
Staff
There are 25 full-time staff comprising 7 class teachers, 2 external teachers (PE and Music) and 10 teaching assistants. All staff are carefully selected by Mrs. Elizabeth (the Owner/Founder) who has 44 years experience in running a preschool.
All staff has at least 2 COVID vaccinations and conduct a regular COVID ATK test once a week on Sunday.
